Losing your mind or is it an optical illusion?
How can you become a giant in one second? How can a room just fly away right before your eyes? How come you feel dizzy while walking through a steady star tunnel? Having experienced them all in the Museum of Illusions, you may find the answers by yourselves.
The Shanghai museum is hosting the Croatian Museum of Illusions’ 20th edition.
First initiated in 2015 in Zagreb by architect Juraj Kralj and graphic designer Dragan Vejnovic, the Shanghai MOI is the largest one in the world, with more than 80 illusions on display, plus a bunch of puzzles and games.
Based on science, mathematics, biology and psychology, the museum spaces, patterns and lights are designed to get your optic nerve so confused that you leave the building questioning the fabric of reality and putting more fun into your day.
The world of illusions is an entertaining place to spend an afternoon for families with children, as well as elderly parents.
There is also a professional photographer on site hovering around taking photographs for anyone who wants to get the angles right.
Visitors can learn about the science of vision and perception by the human brain. Everyone is encouraged to take his or her own photos at the site.
